Was on the phone with my Mother today when I told her that legally credit collectors can call your neighbors and ask for information about you

And she said "so what? So they call your neighbors, I guarantee most of your neighbors here would be like "leave the poor girl alone, she'd pay you if she could." Or they'd just laugh and tell the person to try someone else. It's that small town of it all, people are going to know, you might as well embrace it, move on."



And I said "so they won't judge you."



"Oh they'll judge you, but if you don't care, they don't care. Knowing you, you'll probably write some blog about it... so why feel like it has to be such a secret. This happens, you work through it, you move on."
