Zee Plan...

I "plan" to post at least once a week now... maybe twice if you're lucky. I might post random stuff that doesn't matter sometimes, but we'll see.

POSTING DAYS ARE MONDAYS because most people spend their Monday's reading stuff on the internet any way.

On Saturday we had an open house at the Apartment trying to get someone to move in so that we don't owe a bunch of dough to our property managers

Many came through, a few asked questions and most said something like "wow, you actually fit a king size bed in here and it looks nice."

I spent all night Friday night cleaning the darn place and making it the single most organized and presentable one bedroom apartment two blocks from the beach you ever did see. I was so darn proud of myself. I actually LIKED being in the apartment that before had felt cluttered with crap. It turned out to be a nice morning of hanging out in our nice, clean, airy (hot, though, man was it hot this weekend) house.

One girl seemed super interested, as she asked me a lot of questions about the neighbors "they are all cool guys" and the noise from Garnet Street "nah, you can't really hear it." She then said she liked my taste and that the apartment was super cute. "It's just me, I think it will be big enough."

It made me sit and wonder, we had so much stuff in our tiny apartment, stuff we thought we really needed... FIVE boxes of DVD's... boxes of old office supplies, books and pictures and picture frames and really, had we just lived the simple life of not so much stuff wouldn't it have made for a much more comfortable time? Should we all live minimalist existances? Why do I hold on to books and papers. Why do we even buy DVD's? Isn't there enough on cable? Couldn't we go out and rent some?

I fancy myself a more fleeting lifestyle then most. I don't buy furniture that I can "pass down from generation to generation." I don't even buy clothes that I want to keep forever. I like things to be ever changing, growing. If I was ever forced (or, ahem, lucky enough) to get the house of my dreams that I wanted to raise Baby in, I'd be constantly changing it, redecorating it, repainting it.

I've always wanted to be a bit more bohemian and different in my thinking. Why couldn't we have an office and put our room in the living room? Why do we stick to convention? Why don't we use our dining room as a dance floor? Our hallway as a meditation center? Why did we feel the need to keep a bunch of random papers in our closet. Why do I have so many pairs of shoes?

Okay... I'm getting out of hand.
