Yeah yeah, I said I'd update every Monday or whatever...

But I was sick, sicky sick sick, this weekend.

On Friday I went to a rousing production of The Wizard of Oz put on by the Humboldt Light Opera Company. Something about going to one of those local shows, with all the local people, watching them as they proudly sing out how they are off to see the Wizard. Quaint, that's the word people always throw around when it comes to small towns, and it was. The sound was off a little, the people were so happy to be performing, you could tell they were proud of the work they were doing and ToTo stole the show (an actual, for real life, dog...took the show and stole it away from any live actors).

But the best part (besides intermission, where I got to see my old High School Band Leader, yep I was in Band, FOR ONE YEAR, only to quickly discover I was NOT a Band-y) was after, when they kids all ran around asking for autographs from Dorothy and Glinda (the Good Witch). And how in awe my little cousins were when one of the guys we knew in the show invited us back stage to see the flying bicycle and the set decorations.

Yeah, we got the small town hook up...
