Husband is trying his best but living with the In-Laws is always hard

So says my Mom. I quite like my parents though, so I seem to think "they aren't that hard to live with. They try very hard to be the opposite of hard to live with." But, he is living with his in-laws. So yesterday he came home in a bad mood, this happens. Bad moods happen.

Unfortunately, I'm mostly that person who when somebody is in a bad mood I wait for them to come to me. I figure, when they are ready to talk they'll bring it up, but I'm not going to jump in the line of fire and let them take it out on me. So instead I tried to avoid his grumpy mood. He refused dinner and then he decided not to go to the Softball game with Baby and me.

When we finally got home after a rousing round of "Baby on the loose, somebody watch her, I'm watching the game" he was still in bad space. After Baby finally went to bed he sat down with me and said "today I was depressed. Digging yourself out of a hole is hard and it takes a long time and sometimes it's depressing."

Sometimes it is.

We talked for a while about everything, and the thing about being a grown up is that you don't get a lot of easy fixes. And the thing about not living in a half hour sitcom is that a lot of the time the problems don't get solved, so much as pointed out.

I want to keep my clear head about things, you know the "everything will be okay" and "this is just our adventurous, hardship before the happily ever after", but sometimes... sometimes I too want to take a night just to be depressed.
