Zee Plan...

I "plan" to post at least once a week now... maybe twice if you're lucky. I might post random stuff that doesn't matter sometimes, but we'll see.

POSTING DAYS ARE MONDAYS because most people spend their Monday's reading stuff on the internet any way.

This morning I'm reading about Buddhism and Homosexuality: what a way to start a Thursday

Let me explain how I got here.

So first I woke up and baby wouldn't let me get ready for work, she cried and cried and reached her arms out trying to get me to take her with me. It was hard to leave and part of me considered calling in sick but... we need the money and it's my last few weeks here.

Instead I came in and did my normal routine:

1. I signed on to all of my programs
2. I checked my email.
3. I talked to Vee about her night last night (all the In-Laws met and ate with each other! OOOO, scary).
4. I bought a muffin.
5. I found another job to apply for in good old Arcata.
6. I checked Gawker and read a post about how Coloumbia had posted an article claiming that the Dalai Lama (or rather "a" Dalai Lama) had had sex with numerous men and women even though he KNEW he had AIDS.
7. And then Columbia had run a correction saying, um, so, there really is no evidence that any Dalai Lama has AIDS, or knew about it, or had sex with a bunch of people... sorry.
8. Which lead me to the comments.
9. Where I read this: by Colonel Mustard at 12:31 PM "A tipster firmly embedded in the tyrannous Chinese government has informed us..." Which was funny...
10. And then I read this: by Nic Fit at 12:22 PM That would be weird considering Bhuddism's condemnation of homosexuality. Sorry, hippies, it's still a religion. Which made me realize that while Husband is a Buddhist and we named Baby after this whole Buddhist Princess type person... I have no idea how they feel about Homosexuality.

Let me digress for a minute.

I'm a big "I can't believe you still have a problem with Homosexuality" kind of person. I don't get it. Just the other night I was talking to Husband about Homosexual issues (I have to appeal to his better nature sometimes. The man went to an all Catholic boys school, apparently they were all sitting around FREAKED OUT that somehow, someway, some time, they would have SOME KIND of Gay experience so in an effort to avoid it, they all became hypersensitive about the whole thing) when I said something like this:

"I just think it's so OBVIOUS that having a PROBLEM with Homosexuality is just WRONG. It's WRONG. You know how people say 'you can't tell me what's wrong cause it's all up to opinions and personal experiences', um, yes I can, it's WRONG no matter what your personal experiences or opinons. Just like hating an entire race of people is WRONG, just like teaching children to hate based on skin color or class stature is WRONG."

"I think it feels different then that to most people. Some believe that Homosexuality is a choice, isn't sex a choice? You don't HAVE to have sex with somebody, you choose to."

"If I paid you a millon billon dollars would you have sex with your best friend Jason?"

"Excuse me?"

"If I promised you a perfectly good life, would you PORK YOUR BEST FRIEND?"

"You're getting pretty worked up."

"If I promised you a life of bliss, with all the money and time and a four bedroom house with a yard and two cars and a dog, would you HAVE SEX WITH JASON FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?!"

"I'm changing the subject."

"Come on, answer it."

"No, a four bedroom house with a yard and two cars and a dog is not enough for me to have sex with Jason. Don't get me wrong he's a perfectly nice guy."

"But it just rubs you the wrong way right, to think about sticking it in Jason."

"Gross, stop."

"You see, YOU SEE, it's NOT A CHOICE. Perhaps gay people feel the same way about having to be with the opposite sex..."

"Perhaps they do."

*I will now get off my high horse and get back to the subject at hand*

The point is, I have an opinon on the whole subject and so when I read today that Buddhists don't like Homosexuality either I thought "what is it with people caring so much who has sex with who? I mean SERIOUSLY. Enough to include it in your religion?! Really..."

Googling aside, it looks like it could go either way... in terms of what Buddhists "believe" and all. Mr. Lama (HA Bobby Brown) doesn't seem to take a stance either way.

I shall do more research.
