Zee Plan...

I "plan" to post at least once a week now... maybe twice if you're lucky. I might post random stuff that doesn't matter sometimes, but we'll see.

POSTING DAYS ARE MONDAYS because most people spend their Monday's reading stuff on the internet any way.

Saturday Night We Met The Blogs Number 1 Fan: was going to offer to autograph his chest or something but he was dressed so nicely

*Alternate Title: This is the one where I probably embarass Vee, but it's my blog so I can do whatever I wanna do so there!*

A long time ago (like a month ago when she started working where she is currently working which will remain unnamed to protect the innocent, whoever they may be) Vee told me about her co-worker, oh we'll call him Rene (a totally made up name that in no way resembles his real name at all).

"He seems really cool and he dresses so well and he's just one of those guys who seems really nice and well dressed and cool."

Apparently Vee and Bee (her other coworker) spent a lot of time trying to pressure Mr. Rene into going to Happy Hour (remember Happy Hour? I don't. My Happy Hour I'm usually sleeping and/or hugging a baby) and the one that I made it to, he didn't.

For some time now I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about this guy, who apparently dresses well and seems very nice and dresses well (we must know a lot of guys who don't dress well and are therefore SUPER impressed when one ,oh, tucks in their shirt, or wears shoes that don't involve tie ins to skateboard advertisements and/or socks and sandles, ahem, HUSBAND).

I was a little suspicious myself, guy who dresses well and is nice? Did I ever tell you about the guy who Baby and I were standing behind in the "hey I lost my luggage" line at the airport? And he comes in with a receipt for the clothes he HAD to buy since they lost his luggage. And the reciept is for some ridiculous amount of money since he just had to buy Dolce and Gabanna boxer shorts and a Gucci shirt ("I am wearing the same Calvin jeans and Kenneth Cole shoes as I was yesterday, this is the sacrafice I make for your luggage loss."). That was a guy who dressed nice...

Suspicions were quickly thrown aside however when Vee started telling me this:

He loves your blog! He reads it all the time and thinks you're a genius.

Which just meant I had to meet the guy. Vee told me that he was coming to her house on Saturday night for Jay's bday party and since we were planning on making the requisite appearance ("Party animals, meet Baby, Baby, these are the party people) I figured it would be high time to impress the guy with my oh so genius presence.

And then the pressure started.

Seriously, you can ask Husband. There I was vetoing absolutely everything in the closet and going over in my head what was appropriate information to give up "hey I heard you're a snazzy dresser, nice shoes!" and not give up "Vee and Bee think you're the cats meow, P-I-M-P!" Oh and then of course "I heard you love me. Tell me about how much you love me?"

I was nervous. Especially when Vee added "I think he's just coming to meet you."

Being somebody's idol is so hard. I didn't get in to this to be a role model okay. I'm just a person.

It took me forever to get ready and the outfit we ended with wasn't my favorite. In the middle of my last minute touches, and my deep breaths in the car Husband finally says "why is this such a big deal? Cause it's Jay's bday?" And I smiled and said "no, my number one fan is coming and I have to impress him."

Then I too, relayed to husband, how snazzy dresser, cats meow, recognizer of genius Rene was going to make an appearance and I had to be ON MY GAME.

When Husband parked the car he gave me a kiss on the cheek and rubbed my shoulders a bit. "Don't worry," he said "You are always on your game, it's just natural."

I smiled.

"Now lets get in there and meet your boyfriend."
