And I RULE as drummer.
You see, like the rest of my friends, Rae went and got married, settled down, and moved to Vista.
VISTA. That's like moving to Kansas when everybody else is living in, oh, New York City. Okay, it's not that bad, in fact they found a very cute apartment that is homey and has nice space. But it's in VISTA. (I'm not a hater, oh Vistonians... I'm just saying, there is San Diego and there is Vista and nary the twain shall meet, except when we make the trek out for housewarming parties).
I brought Baby. Husband was away for the weekend so we jumped in with Vee and her man (who she also lives with, because like I said, old and settled down). We headed up, Baby cried. She's not a big fan of nighttime car trips and as VISTA is a bit of a drive, she cried.
We got there, we ate, we ate some more, we visited, we talked, we warmed the house and then Rae's husband busted out Rock Band (which, in case you are somehow more uncool then me, is this video game you can play with drums and guitars and a singer, where you pretend to... be a rock band).
I rule at the drums, set on easy. I'm an okay singer, if it involves Faith No More (yep, THE Faith No More). Rae is the best singer ever, even though she doesn't bother to get up off the couch, just sort of hangs out and keeps the melody.
And Rae's husband, well he loves him some Rock Band, just the moments leading up to it when he was super excited, bated breath "is it time? Is it time for Rock Band?"
We started packing up at midnight (MIDNIGHT) and I was reminded of this one time we had a party over at Vee's apartment in college, the Jello Shot Party, which ended at around 5 in the morning when Vee started throwing jello as people demanding that they catch it in their mouths. Before that she'd lectured me (and other attendants) about the ramifications of ANYONE getting ANY KIND OF JELLO ANYWHERE, especially the walls. And then six hours later, BAM, jello sliding down the walls.
There we were, packing up at midnight, putting socks on Baby, thanking people for the meal, shaking hands and talking about how fun it was to play Rock Band.
Because it was fun.
As fun as waking up with Jello stuck in your hair?
Well... apples... oranges...
Zee Plan...
I "plan" to post at least once a week now... maybe twice if you're lucky. I might post random stuff that doesn't matter sometimes, but we'll see.
POSTING DAYS ARE MONDAYS because most people spend their Monday's reading stuff on the internet any way.

Rae had a housewarming party and we partied like it was 1999: actually more like it was 2008 and we're old now so we just played a lot of Rock Band
