But they are everywhere in Arcata, CA.
Basically Crocs stand for everything I am against in a shoe, bright colors for no reason, simple, plastic (rubber?), comfort over style, style of a woman who wants to go work in the garden or get some real muscle behind her moving boxes and/or running after children.
Women in Humboldt County seem to be comfort over style, in fact that should be what's on the sign as you drive in. Welcome to Humboldt County, comfort over style.
Granted, there are some very stylish people here, and some very beautiful people here, but you hardly see any of them wearing short skirts with huge platform shoes (or huge platform shoes with a tiny sun dress and a pair of designer sunglasses).
Crocs, I find them... frightening, representative of the life that people want me to have... comfort over style.
And here yesterday as I was running errands with my mother, trying to get laundry done, trying to unpack some boxes and introduce Baby to her new home and take Husband for a check up at the doctor I (having not unpacked any of my stylish shoes yet) threw on a pair of my mothers BRIGHT PURPLE Crocs.
And my feet didn't hurt all day.
Damn Crocs.

Good post.. Crocs shoes are really very comfy, stylish and flexible. Got the 2 pairs of crocs shoes from 6PM for the next week family picnic.
